A lot of our first-time customers message us on WhatsApp before placing an order. We like that. It usually means they care about what they are buying. The questions are remarkably consistent, so here are the ones we hear most, with the answers we give.
"Which ghee should I buy?"
We sell two. A2 Gir Cow Ghee is made from Gir cow milk only, with every batch lab-tested. Desi Cow A2 Ghee is made from the milk of desi indigenous cows, and is lab-tested too. Both are bilona ghee with nothing added. The Gir ghee costs more because Gir milk does.
If ghee is mostly for eating with rice, rotis or for children, many people choose the Gir ghee. If it is for everyday cooking in larger amounts, the Desi Cow ghee is excellent value. We compared them properly in A2 Gir Cow Ghee vs Desi Cow A2 Ghee.
"What size should I start with?"
If you are trying us for the first time, a smaller jar. Once you know you like it, the 1 litre jar is the best value per ml. The dolchis are for households that want one large stock. Our guide to choosing a size has the per-ml numbers.
"Will a glass jar survive delivery?"
Almost always. Each jar is sealed, wrapped and set in a protective insert inside a carton rated for the weight. Breakages are rare. If one does arrive damaged, send us a photo of the package and the jar within 48 hours of delivery, and we replace it or refund you, at our cost. You do not need to send the broken glass back.
"Why is the ghee liquid? Is it pure?"
Ghee is liquid in warm weather and solid or grainy in cool weather. That is normal and a sign nothing has been added to keep it at one consistency. It changes colour with the season too. See why your ghee looks different from your last jar.
"How do I know it is really lab-tested?"
Every batch of our Gir ghee is tested by a NABL-accredited laboratory before it ships. Ask us for the report that matches the batch number on your jar and we will send it. If you are not sure what to look for, our guide to reading a ghee lab report walks through it.
"Do you make the ghee yourselves?"
No, and we say so openly. We source ghee from dairies that make it by the traditional method, check them carefully, and verify the ghee before we sell it. We wrote about what we look for in a dairy.
"How long will delivery take?"
Orders placed before 4 PM IST on a working day are usually dispatched the same day, otherwise the next working day. From dispatch, delivery typically takes 2 to 4 working days to major metros and a few days more to smaller cities, hilly regions and the north-east. You receive a tracking link by email, and you can track any order on our website with your order code.
"Is shipping extra?"
Not on ghee. Ghee ships free at every size, to every serviceable PIN code, with no minimum order.
"Do you have cash on delivery?"
Not at the moment. All orders are prepaid through Razorpay, which accepts UPI, cards, net banking and wallets. If paying online is genuinely a problem, message us and we will try to work something out.
"What if I do not like it?"
You can return a sealed product within 7 days of delivery for a refund of the product price. Once a food product is opened, we cannot take it back simply for taste, because we cannot resell it. But if an opened jar has a genuine quality problem, such as an off smell or anything in it that should not be there, tell us. We handle those case by case and have not turned one down yet.
"How should I store it?"
In a cool, dark cupboard, lid closed, always with a clean dry spoon. It does not need the fridge in most homes. See does ghee need refrigeration.
"Is there a first-order discount?"
Offers change from time to time, and any current one is shown on the website and applied at checkout. Our WhatsApp team can tell you what is running when you message.
"Can I talk to someone?"
Yes. WhatsApp us at +91-9112345165. A real person replies, usually within the hour during the day.
